Teacher Qualifications:

Bear Hugs teachers must have either completed or is currently enrolled in course work through The Department of Children and Families 40 hours required training. Bear Hugs is an A.P.P.L.E. and Gold Seal accredited school. All lead teachers must hold a current FCCPC (formerly known as CDA). All teachers must complete the First Aid and CPR training within 30 days of employment. Lead teachers at Bear Hugs in our VPK program must hold a minimum of an Associate Degree in Elementary or Early Childhood education. Continuing education is essential to the growth in early education. Teachers are required to have a minimum of 20 hours in-service yearly.

Each teacher is an experienced certified early childhood educator carefully selected. Your child's experiences during their first 5 years of life will have a lasting impact on future development.

  • First Aid/CPR training
  • Child Development Associate credential
  • A.A. or B.A. in Education with Early Childhood courses for lead teachers
  • State required background screening and 40 hour training

Each member of our staff meets or exceeds the qualification requirements set by state law. Staff also complete an orientation and training program. We pride ourselves in providing the level of customer service, experience, and commitment you would expect for your child.
